Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the VREG

The Flemish Regulator of the electricity and gas market, VREG, is responsible for the regulation and control and the promotion of transparency of the energy market in the Flemish region. The VREG was founded in december 2001. Freya Van den Bossche is the current Flemish Minister of energy, housing, urban policy and social economy. The members of our Board of Directors are appointed by the Flemish Government:

• Kurt Deketelaere, Chairman of the Board of Directors
• André Pictoel, Chief Executive Officer of the VREG
• Els Brouwers, Director
• Sara Vandyck, Director
• Piet Vanden Abeele, Director

They were appointed by the Flemish Government on 10 February 2012 for a period of 5 years.

André Pictoel is responsible for the daily management of the VREG. He is assisted by an Executive Committee with Sarah Van Kerckhoven (director Green power and cogeneration), Dirk Van Evercooren (director Markets) and Thierry Van Craenenbroeck (director Networks).
